From February 25th to 28th, 2014, the prototype of ITER PF rectifier transformer fabricated by Xi’an Transformer Co. Ltd, China XD Group has passed all the electrical tests and inspection of hanging core after short-circuit testing with the witness of representatives of IO, CNDA, ASIPP and XD in Xi’an.
China’s fourth PF Conductor sample (PFCN4) was tested at the SULTAN test facility located at CRPP, Switzerland from July 11 to 18 in 2013. The sample exhibited the performance with a current sharing temperature (Tcs) of 6.37 K for left legs and 6.40 K for right leg respectively at 50 kA and background field of 4.2 T. After 2000 cyclic loading, the Tcs was 6.36 K for left legs and 6.38K for right leg. The test results meet ITER requirement.
The PF5 phase II SULTAN sample, PFCN3, was tested at CRPP from May 6 to 15, 2013. the The sample exhibited the performance with a current sharing temperature (Tcs) of 6.13 K for left legs and 6.17 K for right leg respectively at 52 kA and background field of 4.86 T. After 2000 cyclic loading, the Tcs was 6.15 K for left legs and 6.19K for right leg. The test results meet ITER requirement.
After all most 1 and half negotiation between CNDA, IO and receiving DA, the PF5 dummy conductor was shipped from superconductor shop at ASIPP, Hefei, and arrived at ITER site, Cadarache on June 5th 2013. According to IO requirements, 737m PF5 dummy will be split into 3 pieces and packaged separately: two 308m and one 121m. They will be delivered to ITER site. The fabrication of the PF5 dummy was completed in by ASIPP in 2011.
