Introduction
The PF (poloidal field) coils for the magnetic fields help shape the plasma and control its position during the various phases of operation, including plasma initiation, growth, burn and shut-down. PF coils system consists of 6 independent coils with different dimensions, but all pancake-wound using two-in-hand NbTi-based Cable-In-Conduit Conductors (referred to as CICC).
The total length of PF conductor is about 65km and could span the 4th ring road in Beijing. China will product the whole conductors for the 2nd to 5th PF coil according the Procurement Arrangement signed on October 10, 2008.

Significant progress
On October 10th, 2008, PF PA was signed by IO and CNDA.
PF PA Signature
The very first PF conductor product was completed by ASIPP in 2011, and it was shipped from China, and arrived at ITER site, Cadarache on June 5th, 2013.
