ITER Director-General Pietro Barabaschi and Deputy Director-General Delong Luo visited ITER China and met with the new management team of ITER China—Director-General Yan Wang, Deputy Director-General Min Wang and Xiaohong Yan on September 3, 2024. In-depth discussions and exchanges were held on issues such as the 2024 baseline update, ITER Project management and project construction.

       Dr. Barabaschi commended that the ITER Organization and ITER China, have been working closely and efficiently as "One ITER One Team" in coordinating project execution and jointly addressing challenges. He encouraged China to be further involved in future engineering construction and machine assembly. Director-General Wang, on behalf of ITER China, welcomed Dr. Barabaschi and Dr. Luo, and expressed ITER China would continue to fulfill its responsibilities. She emphasized that ITER China would strengthen communication and coordination, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and overcome difficulties in collaboration with the ITER Organization.
