During oral presentation, 46 projects were reviewed by 65 experts grouped into 4 in line with the requirements and actual application of the second group of projects to be supported by the guide. Review experts assessed each project independently through “voting (qualitative evaluation) and scoring (quantitative evaluation)” according to the principle of the National Key Research and Development Program. CNDA ranked those projects by using qualitative evaluation, supplemented by quantitative evaluation, and presented suggestions for the approval of projects according to the ranking. Presently, result of the oral defense review has been sent, via National Science and Technology Information System, to all application units. So far, review of the second group of guide-supported projects of 2017 of ITER Chinese research has been completed smoothly.

In accordance with requirements for project approval management of the National Key Research and Development Program, CNDA will apply to relevant department of MOST for reviewing the project arrangement scheme, investigating the integrity of personnel and units of projects to be approved, and entrusting relevant agencies to assess project budget. After said work is completed, CNDA will show to the general public the list of projects to be approved according to the results of arrangement scheme review, integrity investigation and budget assessment.
