The objective of PF AC/DC Converter PA is the design, supply and installation of AC/DC Converter including Dummy Load. The scope of this PA includes: the preliminary design and final design of 14 Poloidal Field AC/DC Converters and Dummy Load; The fabrication and factory testing of 14 Poloidal Field AC/DC Converters; Assembly, installation and commissioning of the components, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and technical support during integration testing.

Converter unit

The signing of a Procurement Arrangement marks an important milestone for the project, CNDA will procure all fourteen PF converters that will provide controllable current/voltage to ITER's six Poloidal Field coils. The procurement package includes the design, fabrication, delivery, installation, assembly, integration and site acceptance test of the converter units. It is a very challenging system due to unprecedented power level and short circuit current, and the high dynamic demanding from the need of the plasma control.
