A Signing Ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement about Research and Development of Magnetic Confinement and Fusion Energy was held in Beijing on May 24th, 2018 by China International Nuclear Fusion Energy Program Execution Center (CNDA)

Representatives from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd (CNPE), Southwest Institute of Physics (SWIP), China Nuclear Industry 23 Construction Co., Ltd (CNI23) and Institute of Plasma Physics Chinese Academy of Science (ASIPP) jointly the agreement. In addition, representatives from SWIP and ASIPP signed the bilateral strategic cooperation framework agreement to strengthen cooperation furtherly in research and development of fusion energy.

Dr. Luo Delong, Director-General of CNDA presided over the signing ceremony. The heads &directions from CNPE, CNI23, SWIP and ASIPP attended the meeting and delivered speeches, in which expressed their aspiration for a long-term, comprehensive and strategic partnership to share resources and achieve joint development on the principle of equality and mutual benefits, complementary advantages, fairness, free and good will. At the meantime, they expressed their willingness to bid for CFT related to installation or assembly work of the ITER Project, and to strengthen cooperation in the research and development of fusion energy. Academicians WAN Yuanxi and LI Jiangang from the Chinese Academy of Engineering also attended the ceremony.

Signing agreements will promote the cooperation between the institutes and companies to the research and development of fusion energy, which also help to lay a solid foundation for the designing and pre-researching of CFETR in the future.
